Firm History
Lisa Petti Ellis went to Centennial High School in Ellicott City, Maryland. She graduate summa cum laude from Mount Saint Mary's University. Ms. Ellis attended the University of Baltimore School of Law and graduated with honors in the top 15% of her class. For a short time, Ms. Ellis was a visiting student at Pace University School of Law in White Plains New York, where she studied commercial law and Article 9 while assisting her professor with research for a textbook on Article 9 of the Commercial Code. After passing the Maryland bar exam on her first try, she began working as a maritime law and business litigation associate at Semmes, Bowen & Semmes. While at Semmes, Bowen & Semmes she wrote several state supplements for the book Yacht Financing: A Lender's Manual written by David McI. Williams and JoAnne Zawitoski. From Semmes she moved to Miles & Stockbridge as a commercial litigation associate. Eventually, she opened her own law firm after a brief period as a partner in Blair, Hardcastle & Ellis, P.A.
Today, the Law Office of Lisa P. Ellis focuses on personal injury, accident/slip and fall cases, maritime law, business litigation, products liability, non-profit formation, employment litigation, contracts, torts, personal injury, commercial litigation, collection, replevin, repossession, garnishments, creditor and debtor's rights, wills, fraud, consumer protection issues and general litigation.
